My dear friend Tamara Torres posted a photgraph of this scene and it jogged vivid memories of Chelsea and Manhattan West Side, where I spent many hours gazing across the Hudson. I wanted to paint this scene to re-live those precious memories, to show appreciation for it's existence -- the experience has been so gratifying. It is the variety of inspiration that I cannot simply leave alone.
